🔮 Dear Student or Subscriber...

Welcome back to our weekly Friday Faves. ✨ This is a chance to take a walk with us off the beaten path and explore everyday things, like the products we use (and the ones we don't / won't), and the whys behind it all. 🌿

Feel free to reply back with suggested and fave products you use, and we'll credit you and your socials to build connection and community. 💜

We hope this weekly muse makes your life easier and a bit more interesting… to have your pulse on what we have our pulse on.

☁️ This week is all about cozy, restorative sleep.

Because let’s be honest — nothing resets your mind, hormones, and mood like a night of truly good rest. 😴💤

We’re talking about adjusting our harsh, glowing screens before bed and creating a softer nighttime routine that helps your endocrine system chill out. 🛌✨

Little shifts like this can make a big difference — and your future well-rested self will thank you!

Block the Blue 🔵

So a good night's sleep is critical. That's when we do a lot of our healing. And a lot of us don't realize how badly blue light affects us. 😴

It can be the root cause of a bad night's sleep and even general insomnia, people just don't know. Of course there are several other factors, stress, anxiety, illness, melatonin, and more! But this is one marker that should be addressed.

Play around with your phone and computer settings and learn how to reduce the white point on your phone, dim the screen, and shift the color tone to a warm orange after sunset. 🌙 This is especially helpful if you have the bad habit of reading on your phone before bed – which most of us do. 👀

I see a lot of younger people that don't adjust or only dim, and the blue light is still too much and definitely interferes with their sleep. Period. 💤

A quick Google and YouTube search will show you how to reduce the white point and tint the screen orange (warm is the goal) for your particular phone.

This goes double for children who get screen time after the sun sets. These practices are a must in any holistic household. Screen time is a part of modern life, but we can take small steps to minimize any toxic effects.

We're drilling it down because it's critical. Blue light has a time and place, but not after sunset, unless you're pulling an all-nighter and then it's like coffee. 😳

And even then — moderation! It disrupts our melatonin, cortisol, and endocrine system. You can still pull an all-nighter, work late, or after hours using blue-light blocking on all devices.

FUN FACT: I personally never recommend using devices with no filter — even during daylight hours. I adjust my blue light settings across all devices throughout the day as needed.

Be sure to adjust these options on your laptop, iPad, and / or desktop, too, if you're a late worker!

There are plenty of blue light blocker web extensions for all browsers – f.lux is a great, free option that lets you choose the color tone. (That one functions as a whole computer shader, whereas different web browsers have their own options, too, depending on what you prefer).

The most restorative sleep happens in darkness with as little light pollution as possible. 🌚

A lot of people don't want blackout curtains because they don't like the synthetic material and prefer natural fabric, or you only use blinds. And for those people, I strongly recommend an eye mask.

If you're getting even small cracks of light in your sleeping space, you need an eye mask. 👁️👁️

🛌 I promise you’ll have the deepest sleep ever.

Zennsia Mulberry Eye Mask – This is my fave, fave eye mask — I use it every night! It’s super affordable, works like a charm, and washes so well. Just spot treat with a natural stain remover (Sprouts or Seventh Generation are my go-tos — NEVER use Shout. It’s sooo toxic. One sniff and the nose knows!). Air dry to keep its shape.

Nodpod Sleep Mask – I have this, and was a little hesitant to purchase it, because it's a bit more expensive than I'd normally spend for an eye mask, but I went ahead and gave it a try, and I love it.

It's filled with little beads, and has a nice weight to it. It's terry on one side, and silk on the other. It feels super luxurious and is amazing for naps or receiving bodywork.

Heart Eye Pillow – This is a lovely little pillow to have on your bedside to use whenever...

Zimasilk Mulberry Eyemask – This one’s great if you have long lashes or don't want any pressure.

Red Light Wand – I recently ordered this. I haven’t used it yet, but I had a similar one I loved that helped with lymph drainage and neck contour. This one showed more red light than others, so I chose it.

NuDerma Skin / Hair Wand – Something similar has been trending on TikTok and meant to help with hair growth and anti-aging. After checking reviews and before-and-afters, this one seemed the most credible and had more accessories than the other options.

LED Face Mask – My daughter used hers regularly and her skin was ✨ glowing. This unit has no weird BPA/PVC smells, which is a win because if it smells toxic, it probably is!

🎼 Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things 🎶

💜 We’d love to hear from you and feature your faves in a future edition. Just hit reply and link your faves and let us know what you’re loving—we’ll share it with the community.
