Dear Visionary... 💫

Welcome to our Sunday Student Spotlight series, where every other week we share the story and accomplishments of a Rockwell student or graduate.

Our community is filled with extraordinary healers doing inspiring work in the world, and we're thrilled to share their stories with you.

Meet Dr. Tammy Almeyda

Gastonia, NC | DNM

"Healing comes from God. I simply steward the process." — Dr. Almeyda

From Gastonia, North Carolina, Tammy Almeyda has spent the better part of two decades working with her hands — and, more recently, with bees.

A Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist turned apitherapy researcher and now a Doctor of Natural Medicine, her path to this work started earlier than she knew: at age two, after a severe dog attack, honey was used in her wound care. She didn't connect those dots for years. But eventually, they connected themselves. ✨

The Thread That Ran Through Everything

Tammy has been a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist since 2009.

Over time, her interests expanded into botanical medicine, natural wellness, and a deepening study of apitherapy — the therapeutic use of honey and other bee products.

She became a beekeeper.

She began researching.

And when she found Rockwell, the alignment was immediate.

A Framework, Not a Confirmation

What Tammy gained from her Rockwell training wasn't validation — it was clarity.

The threads she'd been following separately — bodywork, natural medicine, and apitherapy research — finally pulled together into something unified.

"Rockwell's focus on natural medicine, whole-person healing, and root-cause wellness aligned so closely with both my philosophy and my purpose. Instead of confirming what I already believed, it gave me a stronger framework for why I do this work and how I want to serve others through it."

She also found something she didn't expect: traditional healing wisdom and modern research aren't in tension. They can work together, each making the other stronger.

How She Works

What she finds most meaningful is the shift she sees in clients when confusion starts to lift — when someone moves from overwhelmed to empowered.

Tammy's practice centers on root-cause wellness, botanical medicine, apitherapy, and whole-person healing — mind, body, and spirit.

Her approach starts by asking not how to quiet a symptom, but why it's there.

"I want people to feel both supported and understood — and to reconnect with hope and their body's God-given capacity to heal."

"I envision a space that blends natural medicine, body-based healing, wellness education, and restorative support — in a way that feels both practical and deeply personal."

Still Going

Tammy earned her Doctor of Natural Medicine (DNM, PhD) through Rockwell and is continuing toward completion of Rockwell's legacy Tri-Doctorate — a path she describes not as a career, but as a calling.

"This path is not just a career for me. It's part of a deeper calling."

What She'd Say to Someone Starting Out

"Stay curious, stay humble, and don't feel pressured to have everything figured out right away. The more grounded you are in why you're doing this work, the more meaningful the journey becomes."
