The Doctorate of Traditional Naturopathy & Natural Medicine®

Naturopathy is all about the healing power of Mother Nature, which gives us a plethora of body-focused modalities. These are centered around placing the body in different healing environments, whether the ocean, a hot shower, or a dry sauna. You'll learn how exposure to nature regulates the nervous system. We'll teach you biochemical medicine, the most important key for anti-aging and youth preservation at the physiological level, to help prevent and reverse overt damage caused by lifestyle, dietary choices, and poor stress management. Click our interactive syllabus below to preview the coursework for this holistic doctorate.

Program graduates earn the title of Traditional Naturopathic Doctor, TND®, and Doctor of Natural Medicine, DNM®

Voltaire said, "The art of medicine consists in amusing the patient while nature cures the disease."

Nature has so much to offer us, including naturopathy and natural medicine.

There are two kinds of naturopathy: licensed and traditional, sometimes called classical.

Licensed naturopathy has two designations, ND for Naturopathic Doctor and NMD for Naturopathic Medical Doctor.

We use Traditional Naturopathic Doctor, TND®, and Doctor of Natural Medicine, DNM®, but most graduates just refer to themselves as traditional naturopaths.

ND was originally a designation for a holistic provider, not a licensed medical professional, but times have changed.

People who studied naturopathy before licensure took effect typically still use ND.

As educators, our concern is that this overlap might confuse the public.

Aside from training and educational expenses, the key legal difference between a traditional and a licensed naturopath is the ability to treat, diagnose, and prescribe.

A handful of US states do not allow the practice of traditional or licensed naturopathy.

Rockwell graduates residing in these states may request a special certificate of completion called the Doctor of Certified Holistic Health, DCHH® instead.

Licensed naturopaths residing and working in non-licensing states are legally required to practice as health coaches.
